FAIS Disclosure Notice

This notice is provided in line with section 4 of the General Code of Conduct issued under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 2002 (FAIS).

Legal expense insurance for licensed South African firearm owners, offering legal representation, civil liability cover and bail assistance, from R135 per month.

4. Our authority

The administrator is mandated by the underwriter to market, distribute and administer the policy and to act as a binder holder where applicable. The administrator does not give advice; it provides intermediary services and product information only.

5. Conflict of interest

The administrator earns commission and binder fees from the underwriter for distributing this product. A full conflict of interest management policy is available on request by emailing hello@firearmlegalinsurance.co.za. We will disclose any actual or potential conflict to you in writing before completing your transaction.

6. Premiums and waiting periods

• Premiums are collected monthly in advance by debit order.
• 1-month waiting period for court representation.
• 3-month waiting period for civil liability claims.
• Pre-existing matters and unlicensed firearms are excluded.

7. Cooling-off and cancellation

You may cancel within 31 days of receiving your policy schedule, provided no claim has been received. Thereafter you may cancel at any time by notifying the administrator in writing. Premiums for the current month are not refunded.

8. Claims

Report any claimable matter immediately by calling our 24/7 line on 0XX XXX XXXX. There is no excess and no claim form to complete. Late notification may prejudice your claim.
