Acorn Brokers (Pty) Ltd is a registered Financial Services Provider (FSP 47433), authorised and regulated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) of South Africa. We operate from Stellenbosch in the Western Cape and serve firearm owners across the country.
Our Story
Acorn Brokers was founded on a single, uncompromising principle: that responsible South African firearm owners deserve specialist legal and liability protection that actually works when they need it most. We recognised that the existing insurance market offered generic products with inadequate cover, restrictive exclusions, and no genuine understanding of the unique legal landscape governing firearm ownership in South Africa.
The South African firearm owner faces a complex regulatory environment governed by the Firearms Control Act (60 of 2000), an overburdened criminal justice system, and a licensing authority that is often hostile to civilian ownership. A legally justified act of self-defence can result in years of criminal proceedings and legal costs exceeding R500,000. We built Acorn Brokers to bridge this protection gap.
